On Friday May 10th & Saturday May 11th we will be participating in the Environmental Fair being held at the Canada Games Center. The hours for this event are Friday from 1 pm - 8 pm and Saturday 1 - 3 pm. Drop by to see the displays and chat about the trails and wildlife and plants that you enjoy in the McIntyre Creek area.. We are still looking for volunteers to help with this event. Please call Christina at 668-5678 or email friendsofmcintyre@gmail.com if you are able to help us. You only need to have some knowledge of the area through your use, and to be able to spare a couple of hours to man the table with a Board member.
The Friends of McIntyre Creek annual general meeting (AGM) will be held Tuesday, May 28 at 7 pm in the Glass Class Room at the Yukon College. Everyone is welcome, and we hope you will come out and find out more about what we do. If you wish to join us on the Board, we would be happy to hear from you. If you know of someone you think would be helpful on the Board, please let them know about this meeting.
We have tentatively set the date of June 18 for a summer celebration of McIntyre Creek. More details later when the date, place and time are firmed up.
We also anticipate a fall cleanup of an area around McIntyre Creek. If you are aware of an area that needs cleanup of litter and junk, please email us. We expect this cleanup to occur in early September, and again, will post more details.
