Thanks to the volunteers who came out to help at the display for Friends of McIntyre Creek. There were many interesting displays and demonstrations at the Fair, and there was a good turnout of visitors.
Congratulations to the winners of the FOMC draw for the mounted eagle prints donated by photographer, Gerry Steers of Gerry's Computer Magic Photography.
Rick Massie and Marguerite Roberts were the lucky winners.
The eagle photos were taken in middle McIntyre Creek at the little pond by the water station, and below the seniors apartments and Yukon College area. There is a topped tree where the eagles like to hunt dinner.
If you are interested in viewing wildlife right in our wilderness city, this is a great area for bird viewing. You may also see other animals who pass through the area, such as moose, deer, fox, coyote, and other feather and fur creatures who either use this area as a home, or a corridor to go from the mountains to the Yukon River.
The trails are easy hiking so you do not need to be in great shape to enjoy them. You can use the trails to get your exercise and fresh air and nature and changing seasonal flora and fauna in the area.
When the wild roses bloom along the trails, their scent adds to the enjoyment of the hike.
