New sightings

On the trail in Middle McIntyre Creek area, on February 23, 2015 we spotted tracks int he deep snow, and scat along the pathway.  The snow was too deep to see prints, but the scat was about 1 inch across, so not sure which undulate would have left them.

On our hike today, we spotted a pair of bald eagles on the topped off tree that I call the "eagle perch", as it is a popular spot for the eagles to hang out and survey the area.  I guess we will have to watch and see if they plan to make this their nesting area, or are just passing through.

Eco Forum Report

The Friends of McIntyre Creek were very happy with the turn out to the Eco Forum.  There were some excellent speakers, and many equally excellent questions from the audience.  It was encouraging to see how many people cared about the history, birds,  biology, geology, and other features in the McIntyre Creek corridor, and who showed an interest in protecting this area for a park.

Special thanks go to Celeste Sundquist Bendall who provided yet another wonderful table of home baking, and goodies for the forum
participants to enjoy.

Celeste does a last minute check of the food.

McIntyre Creek Cleanup

In spite of being a cool, and somewhat rainy day, the few volunteers that showed up, collected an amazing amount of garbage, including a futon bed, and some large pieces of pipe.

Thanks to all the dedicated folks who came out to help, including the Fish and Game Society cook, Bruce Ross, who had an easy job of warming up the home cooked burgers, and  smokies, provided by Celeste Sundquist-Bendall .  Many thanks Celeste for providing yet again, another great lunch, including the  home made hamburgers!!!

In a pre-announcement, keep your eyes open for details on the Eco Forum being sponsored by Friends of McIntyre Creek on October 23, 2014.  Watch the newspapers for announcements, and come back to the blog for more details.  You will have a chance to experience some of Celeste's culinary creativity at this event!
